Halloween. Smurf Style.

We took the kids trick or treating tonight.  We were prepared to freeze our rear ends off and by the time we got to the end of our street, we were.  Brecken was screaming full on and Joelle was an ice cube.  We were with Auntie and our neighbors; so our neighbors took Adelyn around one more block and the rest of us headed home.  We went to Eric's parents afterwards AND to my parents.  We got home at 9:30.  I'll pay for that tomorrow ;)  Hopefully not in snot and coughs.

2 Smurfettes and Papa Smurf with all the pumpkins.  I'm going to turn those into pumpkin puree.
For a fun little comparison this was last year::

Auntie and twinkies..Adelyn was off with her friends.  And so it begins..

Trick or Treat!

Papa and Nana and the Smurfs.  This was at 9:00 at night, so I would say it's an EXCELLENT picture.  Ha.

So much fun being the Smurfs this year.  It was nice that we had 4 things to wear our costumes too ;)  I'm going to have a hard time topping this one next year!

Chloe's 4th and Summer's 1st Birthday Party-Teusink Farm

Chloe and Summer's birthday party was today.  Cory and Sarah had it at Teusink's Farm.  Oh.my.word.  So much fun!  The weather was perfect for it too.  When we got there we could ride ponies or feed animals.  After we did that we got to go on a hay ride tour of the farm.  Then we came back for cupcakes, cake pops and marshmallow brownies.  I was really hoping for a white cupcake because everyone was raving about them but they were all gone when I went up there.  Brynn didn't finish hers...so, of course, I stole a bite.  It was so yummy!  Sarah used a marshmallow/buttercream frosting that I am going to have to get the recipe for!  It was to die for.

When we got back in the car Eric said we would have had to pay $80 at the fair to ride the ponies as many times as we did at the birthday party.   Apparently we need to have more friends who have birthday parties with ponies!

Joelle LOVES animals.  The first time I took her off the pony I had to do quite a bit of convincing to get her off.  The second time the pony had neighed a couple times and she got down very happily.

A rode around quite a few times...it pays to be late to things ;)  There are no lines of kids waiting for rides.

Birthday Girl #1.  Chloe!  Switching horses is always allowed at your own birthday party.

Feeding the goats.

This goat was a "meaner" as Adelyn would say.  You would try to feed other animals and he would follow you, pushing the other animals out of his way.

Eric.  He thinks he's a pretty funny guy...it's a good thing I do too.  Finally got him to look normally at me.

They brought a bucket full of bunnies on the hay ride to pass around.  Oh my word!  The kids loved them.

Birthday Girl #2.  Summer!  Just a guess but I think she liked her cupcake..

Cake pops!  Yum.  Love the look on Eric's face!

I think William thought the cupcake was delicious...

Adelyn was trying to open presents before Chloe got to them so I told Griffin (the policeman) to keep an eye on her.  He quickly handcuffed her.  She thought it was hilarious.  So did I ;)

I think the kids missed the memo it was CHLOE'S present ;)

Adelyn informed me that she, once again, had a blast.  That girl is going to be partied out this weekend!  We are so blessed with all the great friends we have.

Owen's 3rd Monster Birthday Party

We went to a "monster" birthday party tonight.  It was a costume party for Owen's 3rd birthday.  The birthday boy was Super Why.  Love it!  Jeff and Nichole did a great job setting up and made some awesomely yummy Mac and Cheese.  It only had 2lbs of velveeta cheese AND 8 cups of shredded cheese.  Did I also mention it had bacon and sour cream in it? Yum.

Some of the big kids eating

Daddy making sure the babies don't make a mess..

 William hitting the pinata

Jojo taking a turn.  What a cutie.

Adelyn giving it a shot..
Jojo taking a turn...what a cutie :)

 Birthday boy!

Cutie patootie getting her face painted

Mr. B and his handlebar mustache.  Can you tell he's saying "cheeeeeese?!"

Mr. Jeff and the confetti gun.  It was a big hit with the kids.

Adelyn trying it out.  She jumped a mile when it went off.  After we were all done with it Jeff had said "who wants a turn with the shop vac?!"  I saw Adelyn picking it up and I asked her what she was doing.  She comes over to me and says "my friend told me to pick it up."  Hahahaha

William :)

Most of the kiddos and their costumes

Jeff wanted to do something with his iPhone and he had the kids all standing with their arms out.  Obviously Adelyn was the only one who felt like obliging..  The lego man probably can't see and Brecken and Joelle are trying to plot their next escape attempt.

Little Smurfette and Papa Smurf                                                           Papa Smurf.  He's a stud.

We had so much fun tonight.  On the way home Adelyn asked "When Owen has another birthday, can I come?"  I thought that was so sweet.  She told me she had sooo much fun.  She fell asleep right when we got home so you know she played hard.  Papa took a tumble right before we left so he has a big scrape on his chin.  What's a little blood...
Costume Birthday Party #2 tomorrow!!!

The Smurfs make their debut!

Boulder Ridge had a Park in the Dark theme this weekend.  It's there last open weekend for the year.  We were going to go last night but something about 38 inches of rain stopped us.  Thankfully it cleared up this afternoon!  They had different sponsors set up with candy so the kids could trick or treat.  I picked a really good year for AWESOME costumes-thanks Jill!!!  We went to this in costume, have two costume birthday parties and the 31st.  Everybody and their mother commented on our costumes.  They thought they were so hilarious and original.  Score!

I had to get a picture before we left because I knew it would be next to impossible to get one of the three of them semi-looking at the park.  I was right.

This picture speaks to me.  I love it.                                           aanndd I also love this one.  So pretty.

Papa Smurf...CHEESE!

Smurfette

The baby zebra in the petting zoo.  Adorable.

Miss Adelyn feeding the goats.  So awesome that they have the little scoops you can feed them with.  My kids are always scared when animals lick their hands..

Even Jojo took a turn!

I'm not sure what animal this was..some long eared cow?  But Adelyn fed it.

Daddy doesn't make it into to many pictures..so I'm keeping this one on here!

Feeding the birds!  Can't believe he didn't freak out..                 So amazed I caught this!  I didn't think I did.

Jojo wasn't so sure about it..

Pretty bird!

Adelyn J feeding the birdies :)  She is tooo cute.

Papa riding the elephant.  See the covered pavilion
in the background?  Yeah, he made his rounds in
there about 4 times gathering candy.  I'm not joking.                   Papa Smurf and the oldest Smurfette!!!

My twinkie Smurfs.                                                     They really do love each other...

Gives you a solid appreciation for the hat.  It.is.awesome.

The only picture I got on the safari ride.  It was a bit dark for my camera but it wasn't bad for the ride.  These are wildebeests.

Riding the monster..and ancient...turtle.                                    Little B took a turn...don't get off too quickly.

She wasn't as scared as she looks.

Like I said..impossible to get a picture of the three of them looking.  But it's still cute :)

We had so much fun.  Brecken found a new teething toy.  His Papa Smurf mustache.  I'll have to try to fix that..or just not care.  None of them took their hats off until the very end.  Eric and I were amazed.  Can't wait for the rest of our parties!!!
