Post Family Farms...with Friends!

We went to Post with playgroup today and I remember from last year that they were really funny about "the public" just showing up.  So I called and scheduled a mini-tour.  We got to take a hay ride to the pumpkin patch, get a tour of the farm and ride on the pumpkin train.

Joy took this picture of the Momma's watching their babies ;)

 Jojo.  Such a pretty picture.

The looooong awaited hay ride.  We were losing some people to melt downs so it couldn't have come at a better time ;)

Adelyn picked out a good pumpkin...little does she know we are going to eat it.

Pretty little lady

Cheesy Brecken.  He strategically placed himself next to Mrs. Tiffany so he could steal some crackers.

This is what I look like.  All the time.  (Eric says I need to edit this to "Joy taking a picture of me...

But somebody had to get a picture of Sawyer looking cute! (...taking a picture of Sawyer!)

Oh my goodness.  Could he get any cuter?!  Particularly with the line of drool.

Melts my heart.  I wish I could have known what they were saying...

Animal tour.  Talking about chickens and what they eat with Miss Jane.

"Touching" eggs.  Luckily none broke.

Feeding the goats :)

I should have checked for missing goat eyes.  But I didn't.  Luckily the goat has/had two.

Miss Jane catching pigs.  So we could hear them squeal.  No joke.

 The pumpkin train!

He was SOOOO excited to ride the train.  Every time he saw it he tried to run over to it.  Waiting his turn to ride was pure torture.  Surprisingly there were no scenes when I took him off..

So much fun.  Will have to remember to schedule the tour next year.  It was the perfect amount of time for our kiddos...and we got to escape the weekend crazies.

Finger Painting Fun

Ever since yesterday Adelyn has been asking to finger paint non-stop.  I knew Brecken would love it..he attempted to yesterday but I quickly put the ka-bosh on that.  He had his clothes on, his coat on and already had it all over his hands in the 2.5 seconds I let him play with it.

Naked.  With aprons.   Don't forget your socks.

I texted my friend Joy, this picture, and said THIS is how finger painting is done at our house.  Strapped in chairs.  Naked.  With aprons.

I didn't have any paint brushes.  Which was                                Joelle.  The girl has issues getting messy.
very traumatic, let me tell you.  But I can                                    Don't be messing up her hair bows.  "Bow"
improvise with a mean leaf on a stick.                                        is actually one of the few words she says.

Mr. B.

She got over having messy hands rather quickly.

Brecken had no problem with that from the beginning.

This was her plate halfway through.  I finally
gave it to Brecken.                                                            aanndd this is as messy as she got.

B on the other hand...believes in getting messy.

Funny story (kinda)::I told Adelyn to slap her hand on the paper and say "Bam!" She proceeded to do so but replaced the B with a D.  Then said it as many times as you see hand prints on the table.  I told her once that it was a B..ba ba BAM.  Nope.  Didn't work.  So I didn't say anything else.

We stopped once my dear son decided to stop listening.  Big surprise.  He started ripping all the paper up and painting all over the table.  So I threw them all in the tub and cleaned up.

Fall Fun with Friends

A couple friends from church organized a big fall playgroup.  I was already running behind and thought it was at Kollen Park.  Imagine my surprise when I show up and no one is there.  I call my friend Joy...ummm where are you?!  We are at Dunton Park.  Oh.  Whoops.  Let me drive all the way around Lake Macatawa and come 40 minutes late.  Better late than never.  Argh.  It was a lot of fun other than Joelle being super clingy..  Adelyn had a blast and was so excited to see her church friends

Adelyn painting me a pretty picture :)

But I can still get a pretty cheesy smile out
William painting.  It's serious stuff..                                                                    of him =)

Helping Brecken and Joelle make their acorns...err donut holes with frosting and sprinkles.  Yum!

If only I had advanced my photo editing skills enough to combine these next two..

Brecken's pretty cheesy..but at least he's looking.  And he's kinda cute ;)

Adelyn and William eating their acorns.  I'm pretty ok with them getting married someday.  Just saying..

BUSTED! I turned my back for a second and I caught him eating the "acorn" Joy had made as a sample for the kids to follow.

What a pretty lady :)

Such a handsome dude.

Pumpkin Pickin'

We went pumpkin pickin' tonight and had so much fun.  The kids loved wandering around the pumpkin field and Eric and I had so much fun watching them and picking out our own.

We went to Fun Pumpkins just down the rode from us.  We will be going there from now on.  Decent prices, not super busy and they were SO friendly!

Adelyn picking out her pumpkin!

Daddy pulling the pumpkins, 130LBS!, and the babies helping :)

My pretty little ladies.

Goofy little boy

My twinkies :)

My pretty babies.  Who are getting way tooo big.

A little something to offset the enjoyable pumpkin pictures.  When I showed this picture to Eric and asked him what it was he, seriously, thought it was toe nails.  It is the food gunk/boogers/spit from my son-his side of the table.  There are some grooves along the sides of the table and occasionally I take a fork and file them out.  Yes I have to take a metal fork to our wood table to get it out.  Eric cringes every time I do it.  I cringe every time I see THIS.  So stinking gross.

New Salem Corn Maze

We went to the New Salem Corn Maze with the Lampens tonight and had a blast.  We were hoping to do the corn maze but no such luck.  The kiddie version is not open on Friday nights.  I know, we were confused too.  They told us we could check out the animals and play on the playground.  They had quite a few animals and when we went to check out the cows they had this poor fellow in the calf barn.

They had him set aside because he has to see the orthodontist.  I wish I could tell you that I edited his teeth in there.  But those are his real teeth.

All the kiddos.  On the non-moving train.

Joelle wasn't sure if she should be driving...

So Brecken took over to man the wheel...

I took this of Adelyn with my cell phone when we were downtown Zeeland with playgroup.  She's making a really attractive face, I know ;)

Mommy strikes again.

Brecken took a long nap this afternoon and I heard him wake up around 4:15.  I was trying to finish some muffins for Bible Study tomorrow so I just left him up there.  B and J are always happy to sit in their cribs and play.  Today B decided to take it to the next level.  HE CLIMBED OUT.  I never heard him fall.  I heard their door knob rattling upstairs and I was like who is that?!  Then I heard the pitter patter of feet.  I ran upstairs and B was running around with his pajamas stuck around one foot.  *Sigh*  So I did what I always do when my children climb out way before I'm ready.

I put the mattress on the floor.
Take that Mr. B.  Take that.  Humph.  I had to put his bumper pads back in because there were some gaps in the corners that I foresaw him getting his foot stuck in and waking up screaming.  I've got my sleep all covered over here.  I have SERVED my time waking up in the middle of the night, I tell you what.

And, yes, his teething guard thing is duct taped on.  Because I was sick of him taking it off and still going all beaver like on the edge of his crib.  Little does he know he has to use that bed until he moves out.

I am moderately concerned.  While I was dissembling his mattress he was attempting to scale the side just by pulling himself up and walking up the side.  So not ready for this.  He may get a crib tent.

Lollipop, Lollipop...

...ooo la, la lollipop!  For those of you who don't know, we have for about 2 weeks officially!, taken the child lock off of the inside of Adelyn's door.  I kept talking to her about it and one day she told me I could take it off and we haven't looked back!  I busted out our marble jar again and she gets 1 marble for staying in bed at night and 1 if she asks before she comes out in the morning...and 3 if she does both!  I think there was only 1 night where she didn't do both..  She also gets 1 marble for taking care of her dishes at each meal, any other type of chore and 1 marble for doing extra nice things for her siblings or her parents.  She was told, when Momma's jar is emptied into hers, she can have some type of present or pick supper for that night.  When we talked about it she told me she wanted spaghetti for supper but when it finally came down to an actual "present" she decided she wanted a lollipop.  Her jar was full yesterday and when I told her the Peanut Store was closed on Sunday she cried...and I wanted to cry.  So, so sad.  So we went right away this morning.  She picked out her lollipop...and it cost me $2.75.  Ridiculous.  We had a reallllly nice morning walking around downtown Holland looking in the stores, getting some books for the kids and a scarf for Mommy.  So nice to be with pleasant children :)

My pretty lady with her lollipop!
