Pneumonia. Again.

Adelyn ran a fever for a week straight.  She had a cough with it that slowly got worse.  I wasn't to concerned because she always gets a yucky cough any time she gets sick.  Her fever would only come in the afternoon and evening, stay in the 101/102 range and go away in the morning.  And she has certainly had much worse coughs.  After a week of it, I called the doc.  The phone nurse was horrified.  "Her body could be shutting down."  I laughed. Literally.  And assured her, her body wasn't shutting down.  In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have laughed since she probably wanted to call DHS on me.  Oh well.  We got her in for the next morning.  That morning I heard her wheezing.  I figured she was going to have pneumonia.  She's had it before as a baby and she has had bronchitis a couple times.  Right when our Doc put her stethoscope on Adelyn's chest she said "It's pneumonia."  She wanted a chest x-ray but I'm not a lover of x-rays and it's expensive.  So I suggested not.  She listened again and couldn't hear the breath sounds on the right side.  She said that was not a good sign and she could have a PE.  She checked her O2 stats and those were down too.  So she gave her a breathing treatment and said if her O2 stats didn't go we would need a chest xray.  Obviously we need to know if she has a PE or not so I said OK.  Aanndd her O2 stats didn't come up.  Lovely.  Off to xray we went.

B and J were such troopers.  Zeeland recognized them and gave them some stickers.  We were waiting outside the xray door here.

Back to the doctors office to wait for the results.  We busted out some coloring crayons and colored on the paper.

Lincoln slept.

Then B and J read germy books.

And Adelyn rested.

The doctor came back and no PE.  Yay!!!  Just meds for the pneumonia and no chest punctures.  Woot.
