Fitz'isms

I have a feeling I'll be doing a lot of these in the upcoming years...

Tonight as I was directing everybody for bath time I was going to the bathroom.  Adelyn is standing next to me and while I'm talking she is grabbing the toilet paper.  I just thought she was going to hand it to me, which would have been par for the course, but the next thing I know I feel someone wiping my butt (the top side, mind you).  I didn't know if I should laugh or be thoroughly disgusted...
I laughed.  Eric laughed.  Ha.  Ha.  Ha.

Fitz'isms

Eric was changing Joelle today and he said "Joelle, you have such a pretty Easter outfit on, Brecken only has a shirt on and Adelyn only has pants on.  We are the perfect Walmart family."  I said "Welcome to every day."

We were all eating lunch and Adelyn had dumped out all of her food and was squishing it in her hands so I told her if she did it again she would have to go in time-out.  Usually that's enough to stop her.  Not today.  I pulled her chair away from the table (I totally forgot I hadn't buckled her in, it's getting to the point where I usually don't because she likes to get up and down herself) and she tried to grab the table to keep from going in time-out.  Wellll, I kept pulling the chair and she fell flat on the floor with her arms straight out in front of her and her legs sticking straight out behind her.  There were her little hand prints on the floor (from her squishing her food) and she wasn't crying bad, so I knew she wasn't hurt.  Eric and I were laughing while I was trying to comfort Adelyn and Eric said "way to get out of time-out."

Brecken and Joelle-4 months

My little babies are growing so fast and developing such fun personalities.  Their personalities have really shown through this month and they are completely opposite!

Brecken:
-you weigh 14lbs, on the home scale
-you wear mostly 3-6 month clothes
-wear a size 1-2 diaper during the day and a 2 at night
-you sleep 9-10 hours, straight, at night
-you, pretty consistently, take 3 naps a day
-you still love the boob.  you will take a bottle now just not from me
-you are, seriously, the most laid back individual I know
-you love to smile!
-your hair is really starting to come in now..you aren't a cue-ball anymore :)
-this month you have started to laugh and you love to chew on toys
-you roll from front to back pretty consistently now
-you love to hold hands with Joelle, and she you.  It's the cutest thing.
-you love to smile and talk to Adelyn and Joelle

Adelyn at 4 months

Joelle:
-you weigh 14.6lbs, on the home scale
-you wear 3-6 month and 6 month clothes
-you wear a size 1-2 diaper during the day and a 2 at night
-you sleep 8-9 hours.  You really struggle to stay asleep some nights but are hopefully getting better.
-you have the biggest gummiest smiles.  I love them.
-you definitely have the chubbiest cheeks of all of my babies.  I love to kiss them :)
-you are SOO strong.
-you love to stand
-you are literally an arm away from rolling back to front.  You roll both of your legs over and your body but get stuck on an arm.  You still refuse to roll from front to back.
-you are SOOO loud.  Nobody will miss you ;) You love to talk..and it isn't quiet.
-you make the funniest noises when you talk
-I have started giving you an extra 2 ounces of milk at night (I have 300 saved in the freezer..) and it helped a lot the first two nights and then you got sick..

We have their well-baby visit next Tuesday so I'll post stats then!

Adelyn-Brecken-Joelle: Pictures

One of our other favorite photographers took pictures of the kids the other day.  We just love how clean her pictures come out and she is GREAT with Adelyn.  She is just starting out and is only 20 so it just amazes me how well she works with Adelyn :)

All of our feet..Eric wasn't dressed for pictures and I definitely wasn't feeling it..so this is what we got of the five of us ;)

All of my little loves.

Jojo is so pretty and looks just like her daddy.

My handsome little man..who looks just like me..or my brother.

My pretty little lady..who is a mix of her mommy and daddy.

She is adorable.

Love this girl.

She was having so much fun!

Brecken and Joelle-Picture Post

My little babies are growing and maturing so much.  These pictures are a couple of the new things they have been doing lately:

Talking to each other.  It's so cute.  They'll just look at each and smile and talk.  I hope they are best friends :)

Tummy time.  Brecken is the best at lifting his head the highest but Joelle has almost caught up to him.

B has started chewing on toys.

Pretty Jo's big gummy smiles :)

B is perpetually happy.

They have started holding hands a lot.  Both will initiate and it happens whenever they are laying/sitting by each other.  So cute!

This happened the other day.  They were both getting fussy, it was time to eat, I turned on the TV for Adelyn and they both were instantly quiet and glued to the TV.  Lovely.  Adelyn didn't even know what the TV was until I was pregnant with them..how things have changed.

Our New Schedule.

As of Monday, my birthday, everybody randomly decided to take a 2 hour nap from 12-2.  This has not happened since December 18.  It was the best thing ever.  We had a horrible night and a not so good morning and then they all slept from 12-2.  I was singing praises.  I decided it was high time to get these babies on a nap schedule and have succeeded every day this week.  Awesome.  I currently wake up with the babies sometime between 7:15 and 7:30 and feed them.  I then pump and eat breakfast and Adelyn has woken sometime around 8.  She stays in her bed until I'm finished pumping and eating.  I get Adelyn and she eats breakfast while I unload and load the dishwasher and pick up whatever has been left out.  By this time it's around 9/9:15 and the babies are getting ready for their morning nap.  They have either been in their bouncy seats or in their bumbos watching Adelyn.  Sometimes we get to play a little before their nap.  I bring them upstairs for their morning nap and that lasts 45 minutes to an hour.  Adelyn and I usually play during this time and I typically take a shower.  I then feed the babies at 10:30 and Adelyn watches Sesame Street.  We all play together until lunch at 11:30/11:45.  The babies generally sit on the table while Adelyn and I eat.  They go down right after we eat between 12 and 12:15 and nap until 2ish.  As soon as the babies are down I take Adelyn upstairs for a nap and she naps until 2/3, depending on when she actually goes to sleep.  The babies eat again between 2 and 2:30, depending on when they get up.  We all play/go outside/go for a walk until the babies go down again at 4/4:30.  During this time I whip up some semblance of supper while the babies take a 30-45 minute nap.  I feed them again between 4:30 and 5.  Eric gets home at 5:30, we eat supper, go for a walk if it's nice, do bathes if needed and have started putting the babies down earlier to get rid of the 4th nap and hopefully get them to sleep longer.  I start nursing them around 7, Adelyn gets her jammies on and watches a movie until Brecken or Joelle is sleeping, then Eric or I put Adelyn down while the other person finishes putting the other baby to sleep.  Then Eric and I watch TV :)

A "first" I never wished had happened.

Alternately titled: A "first" I hope never happens again.
We were doing baths last night and I had already bathed Brecken and was working on Joelle when Adelyn got in the tub.  She was standing there and all of a sudden started peeing.  I couldn't tell you the last time she peed standing up in the tub.  Her stream was hitting the edge of Joelle's tub and started splashing her in the face.  By the time I could react Adelyn was done peeing and all I said was "I can't believe that just happened."  I'm washing Joelle and then I notice that she is blinking a lot and her eye has turned reallllly red.  I see a yellow drop on her eye, whip her out of the tub, turn her over and wipe out her poor little eye.  D.I.S.G.U.S.T.I.N.G.  She was fine last night, her eye cleared right up, and she has had no symptoms today.
I can only imagine how that conversation would have gone at the doctor's office...
