April Phone Dump

Sometimes Brecken and Joelle fall asleep with the light on, while reading.  Love.

This little mister had his first Urgent Care/Emergency Room visit.  He had a HIGH fever for over 24 hours.  Eric and I both forgot about his kidneys until the 2nd day.  He still had a high fever.  No one else was sick.  We decided I better take him in.  So I did.  They were concerned with how high it was and he had a really high heart rate.  They couldn't get the cath in.  They taped a bag to him and got two drops that they unsuccessfully tested.  So they moved us over to ER with talks of doing chest x-rays and bloodwork.  Our ER doc was super sweet and told me she wasn't at all concerned about the heart rate and fever she just wanted him to pee so we could test the urine.  HE DIDN'T PEE FOR 5 HOURS.  I nursed him 3 or 4 times.  He kept falling asleep and they would have to wake him up to get his vitals.  Not my favorite thing ever.  We got home at 1am.  His urine, in the ER, came back with possible contamination.  The 48 hour test ended up coming back clean.

Eric and I saw these pajamas a while back at Old Navy and we just had to get them.  I've been wanting to take a picture and finally got it.  #neveratruerstatement

Took all the kiddos on their first bike ride together.  Lincoln loved it;)

Lincoln and paper.  Sigh.  At his 9 month visit he DESTROYED the paper on the table.
IMG_20150421_084151

He did not find it hysterical that he was stuck.
IMG_20150421_171059

Came back to the car, from dropping Adelyn off, turned around to check the kids and Brecken looked like this.

Took all the kids out for a froyo date.
IMG_20150424_155837

I even gave Lincoln a few bites of my non-dairy froyo.  I think he liked it.

Found some excellent garage sale finds.  Books!!!  Lots and lots of books.

Brecken was outside by himself one Sunday and all of a sudden we heard a cry for "hewp! hewp!"  Bahahahaha  The neighbors were laughing at him too.

Should probably pay better attention to my children at the park...

First sentence: I'd buy would buy barbies.  She said she messed up and wanted it to say I would buy barbies.
Second sentence: I would buy a car for Mommy.  To which I said "awwwww" and took a picture to send to Eric :)

Cutest dutch kids ever.

I am totally Kristina Bravermanning my son.  I decided they could use the jelly bean machine when they were done with school.  He does not get motivated by the sticker chart.  He likes to pick his own movie but I am forever asking him if he gave himself his stickers.  And he still complained about school.  SO.  I appealed to his sweet tooth.  The jelly bean machine spits out 5-7 at a time.  I'm not terribly concerned.  I am comparing school to potty training.  I no longer have to give them jelly beans to go on the toilet.  I will not always have to give them jelly beans to like school.  He has not complained about school since.  {I get that he's a boy and might take longer to be interested in school.  His school is not sit down and do work school.  He still needs to have a good attitude about doing things. Over and out}
IMG_20150501_085022

He wanted me to take a picture of him and Lincoln.  Then he looked at it and asked why they were both frowning.  Ha!
IMG_20150501_174806

I lost loooooaaaaaaaads of hair after Lincoln.  This is what my current hairline looks like all.the.time.  If I don't give it the ole spit shine.  Sigh.

Lincoln::9 months

I had to schedule his 1 year appointment.  Waaaaaaaaaaaah.  It's gone too fast.  Along with my 4th child has come a serious decrease in tolerance of crying.  Good thing he doesn't cry much.  But it may have something to do with him not sleeping through the night and his chubbiness.  Giving him a boob is much easier.  Someday I shall sleep.  Maybe before I'm dead.  Maybe.

The one sock wonder took his sock off in the van to use as a chew toy.  I haven't put it back on.
083
-22lbs 4oz, 87th percentile.
-28 1/4inch, 37th percentile.  This just seems wrong.  At every specialist office we have been to, they measure him as long.  Every time, at his ped, they measure him short.  Whatevs.
-head is in the 100th%.  This, this seems right.  Although his is the largest.  Gasp.  Apparently he's short, fat and has a gigantic head.  At least he's cute.
-12 month/12-18 month clothes, a few 18 month things
-size 3 diaper during the day, 4 at night.
-you nurse 5, occasionally, 6, times a day.  You love lunch and supper.  We are just talking about breakfast.  It's so much work.  4th child problems.
-sleeping is hit or miss.  One night you will wake every 4-6 hours.  Another you will sleep 8-10.  I'm not sure if it's related to anything or not.  Maybe adding breakfast will help.  Maybe you just miss the boob at night.
-you love to eat.  LOVE.  But you don't eat near what the other kids did at this point..  You do eat everything.  We haven't found anything you don't like.
-you are flying all over.  You only do the army crawl but you can MOVE.  The kids leave the basement door open sometimes and that scares me.  We are working on it.
-you think it's hilarious to reach for people.  And then reach back for the person you just left.
-you, typically, nap twice a day.
-you adore your blanket
-love to take bathes
-you CONSTANTLY turn your wrists.  Constantly.
-NO teeth
-love, love, love to laugh
-you pulled yourself up, once, in the bathtub the other day.  It hasn't happened since.  I'm really hoping you don't walk for a loooooooooooong time.
-you love to chew on puzzle pieces.  I'm convinced the puzzles I leave out for you will probably be ruined.  Oh well.
-you love to look at (and hit) the baby in the stove or the dishwasher or the slider.  In other words, yourself.
-you also love the duplo's.  We leave those down for you too and you just plow through them.
-we put you in the sandbox the other day while we were working outside and you loved it.  Then we looked over and you were army crawling across the backyard for a stick.  We wonder if you are part dog.
-you chitter chatter alllll the time.  you can say mamamamama and dadadada...but they aren't directed at anyone.  yet. :)
-love blowing raspberries
-you think it's fun to bury your face in someone's skin and blow hard.  Fart noises.  A boy's best friend.
-you think it's hilarious to click your tongue at me while you are nursing.  you will let go, click your tongue, wait for me to do it back and then get a huge smile.

All the babes at 9 months.  I was trying to get him to do a serious picture.  I showed Eric J's 9 month picture and we were both like "Woah"  Twins.

We’reeeeeeeeeee Back!

John Ball missed us.  Never fear, we are back.  We missed you too.  We adore the zoo and are so glad we can go back.

This is how Lincoln felt about the zoo.  I parked right next to the ropes by the playground and let the kids play while he took a little snoozer.

Brecken forgot to wear his bear shirt, just like the bears, so we had to go back a couple days later ;)

We got to see the bears get a treat.  They had peanut butter smeared in different spots all around their cage.

Easter Crafts

We did a couple Easter crafts along with our normal school stuff this week.  On Friday we made salt dough crosses, decorated them and baked them.  They turned out really cute.  Naturally I don't have a picture of the finished product.  We had lots of talks about the why's of Easter.  They know all the information and can recite it like nobodies business.  They got some candy at Awana on Wednesday and I was talking to them about what was more important.  Candy or having your sins forgiven.  Adelyn told me she would rather have her sins forgiven than have candy but Brecken was insistent that candy was much better.  Totally their ages ;)  Joelle would probably make her decision based on what kind of candy she was given.

The New Tramp-o-line

These boxes have been sitting in our garage since November.  That's a long time.  And a whole lot of boxes.  I had Eric promise me that we would get it up this week.  Then, when I looked at the weather for the week, I realized that probably wouldn't happen.  Kinda hard to do when the forecast is RAIN all week.  So.  I put it together myself.  With the worst directions ever written.  No joke.  I can pretty much put anything together that doesn't involve power tools.  This one tested my patience.  I called Eric home on lunch to help me flip over the metal part.  Turns out, I could have done it myself if I had put it together differently.  They tell you to match the zipper opening for the enclosure to a t-joint but not WHICH t-joint.  So I put that on wrong.  Adelyn tied all the ties on the red pad.  Literally about 100.  We had to un-tie them all and take all the springs back off, to rotate it.  I was hoping to have it ready before the kids went to Awana.  No such luck.  They were so sad.  I had Eric come back home after dropping them off and he re-did the whole pad while I put the enclosure up.  Then we let them jump on it when they got home.

They were in love.  And so am I.  Don't be jealous of my pajamas.
001

They love to sit and have me/Eric bounce them.
003

Then we all chased each other.  And watched hundreds of bats fly over head.  Gross.
004

They ask all the time "when they can go jump."  It's been a little crappy because its all wet all morning from dew/frost.  Then the weather has been oh, so beautiful.  Oh well.  Looooots of fun.
